Men in Harmony is a Men’s Performing Ensemble dedicated to

“Enriching Lives Through Singing”. The lives of our singers and our audiences.

We perform about once a month in a variety of settings, including: senior living facilities, private parties, dementia patients, singing telegrams and downtown pop-ups.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation under the Carolinas District of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) and in close association with the Asheville Chapter of the BHS.

Our open weekly* rehearsals are led by degreed musical director(s) who also offer private voice lessons by appointment. Guests are always welcome.

We are currently auditioning for a couple “upper voices”. Tenors (often singing in falsetto) and leads (with a vocal range of about D to G).

Your job, “should you choose to accept it”, would be to learn the music and learn how to make your voice fit into the ensemble sound. Sheet music and part-specific learning tracks are available at no cost.

Learning the repertoire will happen at your own pace with the expectation that you would learn about a song a month. Auditions consist of singing a memorized repertoire song of your choice in a quartet, in private with our director. Once auditioned, you are welcomed and encouraged to join in our performances, singing the ones you know and silently performing the others.

*Weekly rehearsals are Wednesday eveningsm, 6:45 - 8:45 at St. Matthias Church, 1 Dundee St, Asheville, 28801 (corner of Charlotte St and Max St), followed by weekly “afterglow” at Standard Pizza, 755  Biltmore Ave, Avl, 28803 for more singing, eats, drinks and fellowship 😊.
